AGM
Parkinson’s Queensland Inc. held our Annual General Meeting on Saturday the 29th of October.
The meeting was well attended and a change in venue from previous years did not deter our members who came from as far afield as Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. Presentations from Kate Brown, National President of Parkinson’s Australia, offered a picture of national Parkinson’s initiatives and issues, and George Mellick who presented “How Will Research Cure
Parkinson’s Disease” .
The office bearers of the organisation remain unchanged, with the exception of formally electing Deb Johnson to the role of secretary, which David O’Brien has performed since the passing of Kevin Robins in January.
The committee farewelled Alan James who has stepped down after 13 years on the management committee and Max Moloney has also been welcomed to the Management Committee.
The day proved to be a ‘good news’ AGM with the organisation reporting membership and Support Group growth and an improved financial position.
